Hove 21
The Brief
Subdivision, Relocation & Restoration
Set within the character-rich streets of Highgate Hill, this pre-war Art Deco residence was thoughtfully repositioned and renewed following subdivision of the original site. Formerly known as 23 Hove Street, the home was carefully relocated to allow for the new lot configuration — a defining first step in its transformation.
Raising the original structure created the opportunity to respectfully restore its architectural features while introducing a renewed sense of scale and functionality. Signature Art Deco elements — curved forms, decorative plasterwork and strong geometric lines — were retained and revitalised, celebrating the home’s era and craftsmanship.
The renovation sought to preserve the spirit of the original dwelling while refining it for contemporary living. Natural light was drawn deeper into the interior, spatial flow was enhanced, and material selections were carefully considered to complement the home’s heritage character. The result is a residence that feels both authentic and refreshed — honouring its history while embracing a new chapter.
Delivered through MorPro’s integrated development and construction approach, the project reflects a careful balance of respect, precision and thoughtful design intervention.
